How to Connect Viber to Your CRM
The Viber + CRM integration lets you receive messages from your Viber bot right inside MyInboxify and reply to customers alongside all your other channels. This guide explains how Viber actually works for business, how to get a bot and how much it costs, and then how to connect the bot by its Viber Auth Token. Only the company Owner can set up the channel — the Settings section is available to them only.
In short: how Viber works for business
A company has several different entities on Viber, and they are easy to confuse:
- Personal account — the regular Viber on your phone. It does not connect to a CRM.
- Business profile (Viber Business Account) — a verified company page inside the app. Useful for presence, but it does not connect to third-party systems via API.
- Bot (chatbot) — this is what connects to a CRM. A bot has its own Auth Token, which MyInboxify uses to receive and send messages. Working inside a CRM requires a bot.
ℹ️ Key point: on Viber a business’s “identity” is the bot, not a phone number. Customers find your bot via a link, a QR code or search and message it — and you reply from MyInboxify. You cannot cold-blast arbitrary phone numbers through a bot: only people who messaged you first or subscribed will chat with it.
What you’ll need
- Owner access to your MyInboxify account.
- A Viber bot (public account) with access to its admin panel.
- The Viber Auth Token from that bot’s panel.
No bot yet: how to get one from Viber
You apply for and register the bot yourself, directly with Viber — it belongs to you. MyInboxify does not issue bots and is not a Viber registrar; we only help with the application and connect a ready bot by its token.
Note: since 5 February 2024 a new bot is not issued instantly — it goes through an application and approval. The flow is:
- Apply for the bot — directly to the Rakuten Viber team at partners.viber.com (the Create Bot Account button), or through an official Viber partner-registrar (approval is usually faster via a partner). Log in with the phone number that has Viber installed.
- Fill in your business and bot details: name, logo, description, category, website, email.
- After approval, accept Viber’s commercial terms (see “How much it costs” below): the activation and monthly fee (~€100/mo) are paid directly to Viber or the partner.
- The ready bot has an Auth Token (in your account, the Edit Info / Info tab) — that is what you paste into MyInboxify.
💡 Don’t want to handle it yourself? We can help you file the bot application as a separate setup service — or you can apply through an official Viber partner-registrar (which speeds up approval). Either way, the bot stays yours, and you pay the activation and monthly fee directly to Viber or its partner.
How much connecting Viber costs: full transparency
- Connecting to MyInboxify is free: paste the token and the channel works. We charge nothing extra for the Viber channel itself — it is included in your MyInboxify plan.
- A bot created before 05.02.2024 keeps running on Viber with no monthly fee (the previous model).
- A new bot (from 05.02.2024) — Viber’s paid model: a one-time activation and a monthly fee (roughly ~€100/month per bot). Note that inbound messages and your replies within 24 hours of the customer’s message are free and unlimited; only bot-initiated messages outside a conversation (proactive broadcasts to subscribers) may be charged.
- Who you pay: the activation and monthly fee are paid directly to Rakuten Viber or its official partner-registrar. MyInboxify does not collect or receive these payments — they are not part of any of our plans or services.
ℹ️ MyInboxify is not a Viber bot registrar. The bot belongs to you: you are its owner and the payer on Viber’s side. Our role is to connect your bot to the shared inbox by token (and, if you wish, to help with the application as a setup service).
💡 Current terms and pricing are on Viber’s official pages: forbusiness.viber.com and the bot commercial model.
Step-by-step guide: how to connect Viber to your CRM
- In the admin panel of your Viber bot, find and copy the Viber Auth Token.
- In your MyInboxify account, open Settings and go to the Viber section.
- Click ➕ Add Viber.
- Paste the copied Viber Auth Token into the token field.
- Click Connect. MyInboxify registers the webhook in your bot automatically — there is nothing to set up by hand.
- Check the channel card: a connected Viber shows the account name and a “● Connected” status.
💡 The token grants access to your Viber bot. Keep it secret and never publish it.
Auto-reply to the first message
If you like, turn on the auto-reply: tick the checkbox and enter your text. Then any customer who messages you on Viber for the first time will automatically receive your welcome message in the messenger. This step is optional — the channel works without it too.
Once connected, all inquiries from Viber land in one shared inbox together with your other channels. To learn how to handle them, read the article on working with incoming leads. Other messengers connect in a similar way — for example, Telegram and WhatsApp.
FAQ
What’s the difference between a Viber account and a bot?
A personal account and a business profile are your presence inside the Viber app. A bot is a separate entity with its own Auth Token; the bot is what connects to the CRM and carries the conversation with customers.
Where do I get the Viber Auth Token?
The token is issued in the admin panel of your Viber bot (partners.viber.com, the Edit Info / Info tab). Copy it and paste it into the field in the “Settings → Viber” section.
Is the ~€100/mo mandatory?
For bots created from 05.02.2024 it is Viber’s condition. But inbound messages and your replies within 24 hours are free — the monthly fee and one-time activation are paid directly to Viber (or its partner-registrar), not to MyInboxify. Bots created before that date run with no monthly fee.
Can I broadcast to a list of phone numbers?
Not through a bot: a bot can only message people who wrote to you first or subscribed. Mass broadcasts to phone numbers are a separate Viber product (Business Messages) with its own pricing, and that is not the channel that connects to the CRM.
Who can connect Viber?
Only the company Owner — the Settings section is available to them. Agents don’t have this section.
How do I know Viber is connected?
In the “Settings → Viber” section the channel card will show the account name, and a “● Connected” status will appear on the card.
How much does a Viber bot cost and who do I pay?
If you already have a bot, connecting it to MyInboxify is free. A new bot is a paid Rakuten Viber product: the one-time activation and the monthly fee (~€100/mo) are paid by you directly to Viber or its official partner-registrar. MyInboxify does not receive these payments — we only help with the application and connect the bot by token.
